The Solstice is nearly upon us and it has been a hectic time! I plan to be more engaged with posting old and new writing, and old and new music over the holidays and into the New Year. I might even dip my toes into theatre reviews. (Melissa and I loved A Christmas Carol at The Citadel yesterday. Jesse Gervais was brilliant as Christmas Present/Santa/Guy at Party. The whole show was very well done.) Go see it! https://citadeltheatre.com/shows/24-25-carol/
I started a meditation on AI. I hope to have a half-polished complete draft to post soon. It is nearly complete but I don’t want to post anything not fully cooked. It is good to put the thinking cap on again and drill into those uncomfortable feelings to work out the root. I am exploring two specific points regarding AI that don’t sit well with me. I think a further investigation into the ramifications of the technology is definitely needed before it is universally adopted is warranted. Of course, I wouldn’t turn down having an AI robot to clean my house and put away the dishes. There may be a conference paper in there. I’ll keep you posted!
Almost the holidays. I’ve never really been turned on by the religious aspect, especially considering I work in a place where we have staff from so many faiths! (More than five that I am aware of anecdotally.) However, I am very receptive to the idea of festive lights bringing more light into our lives. Each year the shorter days and longer nights weigh heavier than last. It is almost the Solstice. Yes, I take vitamin D everyday.
I decided yesterday that my resolution for 2025 is to see more live theatre!
I leave you for now, gentle reader. More to come soon. Happy Yule!
