Mid-January Update

Hello illustrious readers! (I see you!). Sorry I haven’t been more active here but the last few weeks have been eventful to say the least. I have also decided not to feel pressure to produce, share, comment, spew unless I am inspired to do so. Part of this is my want to take my time back from social media and mindless tasks and, instead, focus my energy on the present, the people around me, to observe the small nuances, and to think before I respond.

I decided a couple days ago not to check my Facebook. I still have messenger on my phone so I can communicate with my Love, but I haven’t been incessantly checking the news feeds. To my surprise, I don’t miss it. I think I will cultivate a practice that *if* I check Facebook, it will only be at a certain time of day and for a certain amount of time.

I also put a hiatus on Star Trek: Fleet Command. I’m not saying the game isn’t fun but it isn’t really adding value to my day. I would rather apply my attention and mental energy to other, more rewarding areas like conversations, productivity, and making connections with other humans in my close proximity.

The holidays were also stressful because of an ill family member. He is still in the hospital and I’m heading to Calgary tomorrow to see him.

Thanks for reading. Next update I hope to include some information on my grandparent’s piano coming to live with us at our goth house and hopefully some news regarding some sticks in the fire.
